Grandpa's Sweater from the 60s #StyledByMarina

Today I'm coming at you with a quick winter outfit post. Keeping it warm and stylish in the winter time can be quite a challenge for us girls. Especially when it is currently 5 degrees or snowy outside and you gotta look good while trying to stay warm and cozy. As much as we all adore a sexy silk dress or a chic little black dress for Christmas and  New Year party, sometimes the weather just gets too freezing cold to even consider wearing a dress.

When it comes to the kind of clothing materials and fabrics that are capable of keeping one nice and toasty during the winter season, wool and knit automatically comes up to my mind. Combining my love for vintage and retro clothing, I created this head-to-toe outfit look using mostly the clothes that have been in my closet for ages and some of them I purchased recently during my trip to South Korea.

For my top, I wore a sturdy vintage brown wool sweater with black and white stripes and puffy sleeves. I absolutely love vintage sweaters like these, this sweater has been in my closet for many years and every winter I discover a new way to style it. I love vintage sweaters because of their high-quality, interesting yet timeless prints and pattern and their versatility when it comes to styling them. And just in case it ever gets a bit colder, I also had on my checked blazer with me.

As for my bottom, I chose a long wool pencil skirt with similar stripes print on it, I bought this skirt whilst on my trip to South Korea in November, The price is super affordable and the quality is very nice. It's one of those cozy skirts that can keep you warm in the winter time.

For shoes, I just had on my sparkly sneakers from Bershka and paired it with some anklets to add a little more retro vibe to my look. And to accessorize, I had on my deep blue velvet newsboy hat which I love, hats and velvet are just the perfect combinations for the winter season. Lastly, I wore a simple choker from HotTopic.

Wearing:
Checked Blazer - Meierq
Brown Stripes Wool Sweater - Vintage
Long Wool Pencil Skirt - Korea
Blue Velvet Newsboy Hat - Vii&Co
Sparkly Sneakers - Bershka
Choker - HotTopic

I adore this "vintage winter look" I put together! Because I feel like sometimes we forgot how much clothes we buy on a monthly(or for me, weekly. oops!) basis and we would inevitably end up with an enormous amount of clothes that we rarely ever wear. So every so often I like to take a good look at my closet and the clothes I already own and come up with fun new ideas to mix and match each piece of clothing and create new looks.

If you haven't tried it yet, I encourage you to dig through your closet and REALLY give some of your old clothing a good look, you never know, you might just be inspired by them once again. However, if you are like me that love vintage clothing, you already know the magic of each piece of old clothing and the stories behind them, and the tales they continue to tell while you are wearing them.

Merry Christmas and I wish you guys a happy new year!
