Ancient cities.
How many stories are buried underneath?
Underneath the thousand-year-old rubbles and ruins.
Where civilizations and great history start and end,
Where empires and kingdoms rise and fall.
It was a time when everybody wanted to rule the world,
And perhaps it was a time when everybody had a chance at power.
Ambitious kings along with almighty queens.
The captivating tales of royal families and aristocracy.
Whom will be remembered for centuries to come.

From great cities, great scholars and philosophers were born,
They are the sages of their time.
The storytellers for all descendants to come.
Arts, music, and literature passed down to generations,
As they shape and form our cultures and influence this world.

Flourishing cities.
Behold the glorious man-made architectures glisten under the sun,
The booming commerce and traveling salesmen from east to west.
Crowds gather at the agoras filled with exotic herbs and spices.
Fearless sailors set sails and ventured into the unknown lands.

We may not know what the future will hold,
But for the moment let's relish the past.
For the many ancient tales of dynasties,
For the fearless love and wars stories,
For the countless artisans and men of letters that passed down their creations and knowledge,
And for the cities that once fermented such lush and abundant history.
