Elysian Haarlem

A thousand miles, so far away yet it feels like home.
I have crossed the continent and oceans
to find where legacies of the Dutch Golden Age reside.
It's here the art whispers, the cathedrals hymn.
Soft lights reflect on the canals as the boats glide by.

I wish to linger for just one more moment but I am running out of time.
Sometimes I wonder if the universe wants me to feel her eternal melancholy.
Just when I finally reach the brim of happiness,
she pulls me right back to her bittersweet sorrow.
But don't all great artists concur,
antithetic emotions are the best catalyst for creative inspiration.
Tulip fever, narrow gabled houses and a bit too much recreational fun.
I, remain hopelessly imaginative as ever, in Elysian Fields.

  1. Oh my goodness those photos are stunning! I want to be there! And you look just amazing in all of them. I love that wrap dress (don't they just flatter every shape?) on you, too. And the photo effects (like old, folded photos)....just amazing!

  13. I love your outfit - super cute. Oooh, the town looks gorgeous. There's so much to see out there and big plus that there is a lot of picture ops out there. I can totally relate to your passage. This is what challenges us as human beings - the quest to always find that happiness no matter what happens. Happy new year xx
